I think it’s safe to say I hydrate pretty well, seeing as though I counted 5+ empty water bottles in my car this morning. I finished one off too, AND popped open a Vita Coco. I really enjoy coconut water every once in awhile and it truly does keep you hydrated. I tend to drink them the night before a race, after a race, or just to start my day. As someone with a small bladder, I try not to drink them the morning of a race. I do not fear port-a-potties, but only use them if it’s an emergency. I usually stand in line waiting because my nerves get the best of me. Anyways, I’ve also tried the brand Zico…Vita Coco is definitely at the top of my list. If you’re still hesitant to try coconut water, try to add it to a smoothie. It doesn’t have much of a taste, but definitely adds to the hydration factor. Additionally, it’s rich in potassium, electrolytes and other nutrients. It’s fat and cholesterol free. Tastes good and is good for you. What more could you want?!
