Weekend Wrap Up

Standard

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did! Lucky for me I had Thursday and Friday off, giving me a wonderful 4 day weekend. We were supposed to close on our house on Thursday, but it was pushed back to this week. Needless to say I’ll be busy, busy, busy the next few days.

Back to the weekend-I got so spend time with my puppy, boyfriend, running shoes, and my kitchen! As of recently, I haven’t been giving my fur baby a lot of attention and I feel ever so bad. She’s forgiven me though : ) My boyfriend also had the weekend off, so we actually got to spend some quality time together. The hustle and bustle of school and work don’t really allow a lot of time with each other. The best part was spending time with the boy toy and the pup!

Other than that, I made some delicious crab soup. My brother in-law pretty much has the best recipe ever! You can take the girl out of Maryland, but you can’t take the Maryland out of the girl. Love me some crab. After that, it was baking all night. My man helped me prepare and decorate some yummy cookies! Can you tell who’s are who’s? We stayed up wayyyy to late decorating cookies, and we had an 8K to run in the morning! Sunday morning we were expecting crazy snow and stuff….well, the race went on. Snowed during and after. Frigid five miles might I add. So many fun costumes at the Jingle All the Way 8K. Penguins, Jesus and his clan, Elves, and event eh Peanuts Gang! We didn’t go all out or anything, but we had fun dressing up. I even had little jingle bells on my bib. Oh, and notice the VitaCoco car?! Loved it so naturally I took a pic with it.

Next weekend can’t come soon enough, but I could definitely wait to move. Bring on the week…

Hide and Seek

Standard

I’ve been flying under the radar of my blog. I haven’t been running, I’ve been hiding. Hiding inside in the warmth. I just haven’t had the chance to convince myself to get outside! It’s bad, I know, but…I have a ton of excuses. First and foremost, we just go to Thanksgiving. My family comes first before running. Crazy, right? I saw a ton of family in the past week and I am so glad I had the time to do so. Not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving, but also celebrated my late grandmothers birthday. While it was a sad time, it was good to be with the ones who loved her most. There were tears, and more importantly smiles, and we were together. Thats what she would have wanted.

Now onto packing our house to MOVE. It’s been a long time coming, and I really wish I could literally run away from all the packing, but thats not an option. One week til the big day; I’m excited, mad, nervous, happy and a ton of other emotions mixed in one. We’ll see where this road leads us, and me for that matter. Not sure how long I’ll stay at this brand new home with my parents, but I see another move in my near future.

Until then, happy running! Happy Thanksgiving, Hanukkah…and it’s still too early for Christmas. Can’t wait for my birthday though!

And Then There Was One

Standard

I realized today that I’ve been well rested and my body feels like its back to normal. I also realized today that I only have one race remaining this year….what?! A Christmas themed 8K in early December. That’s right around the corner, and I feel like I need more races on the books to finish this year strong. I seemed to have lost my motivation somewhere, I’m not sure.

Although I love the run, sometimes I don’t like what races do to my wallet. And since I should be giving more than receiving, I suppose I should save my race fees for gifts for the ones I love. That would be the right thing to do.

Looks like I’ll be prospecting some races for 2014-Watch out! What races are you guys running? I’ll also be moving in two weeks, which could spark my curiosity and my motivation. I love running…away, and getting lost. I like not knowing where I’m going; it helps me run longer, stronger, and happier.

I need to find some races STAT!
